Note: If you guys only want to read completely translated works, please hit CTRL-F or CMD-F (for Mac users) and type in ‘Completely Translated.’ Happy reading!

I know there are a lot of worthy novels out there. I can’t recount how many I’ve read online, especially Chinese, and Japanese — some of them I’ve dropped, either because of personal distaste or the unfortunate snail’s pace updates, and some of which was fortunate enough to see finished, and finished.

I had three phases the moment I’ve switched to reading online novels. First was, a long, long time ago (about years ago), I started off with strong male leads with amazing powers living in fantasy worlds. Actually, Chinese novels. My source of wealth was Wuxia. They had amazing works, most of which have, yes, main male protags — with themes of either from weak to strong, or naturally strong but hidden from others. If stories like that are your cup of tea, in addition to Chinese martial arts, then I suggest you head there and take your pick. Or scroll down to see my list.

Please note, however, that my list here involving Wuxia might be a bit hazy/incomplete (and can be counted with one hand), since I can’t exactly remember which ones I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed, and ones I just read. With the plots mixing, and some concepts/scenes switched, I dare not say more to some in fear I might unknowingly under/overrate them instead. So… better just head to Wuxia.

After my first phase, I had a few years of dormancy (and got to focus on College life instead), and it wasn’t until about a year ago that I started reading novels again. That time, however, I’ve switched to action, adventure genres with reincarnation plots, making me gravitate towards Japanese works. Some of which were primarily influenced by anime and manga, of course. Hence, I’ve explored worlds like Overlord, Tensei Slime, Log Horizon, and a few others I didn’t really take note of. lol It was a brief phase, of which I remembered I’ve only read a few — most, I’ve dropped.

Aaand now, just recently, I’m back to reading again! But, in contrast to heroes breaking through their limits to achieve the Higher Heaves, my new cup of tea are spunky female heroines and reincarnations instead! Most of which this time is focused on romance — actually, a mixed of both since I’ve been toggling between Japanese and Chinese. lol So, my list here could be predominantly about them (since they’re the ones I remembered well, considering we’re at this phase right now) 。゚(TヮT)゚。

Anywaaay, as mentioned, I’ll be listing some of them novels here, great ones worth mentioning and ones I haven’t dropped — their summaries, and some of my general opinion of most (as well as some links to their translations). Note that they aren’t ranked, and are instead listed alphabetically. This list will be updated from time to time, whenever I’d discover and/ feel like adding a new one (a change of heart, maybe?).

Right now, the ones here are Chinese and Japanese. Buuut… we’ll never know, sooner or later, I might be adding stuffs from countries other than China/Japan. Well, prolly less likely if it’s English ’cause… I just don’t want to. It’s not that I hate them but… y’know. I really can’t explain it. It’s just… there’s a lot of them, see, and they’re really commonly talked about (at least, in my area)? Maybee except if that novel isn’t mainstream, I might reconsider.

Important Reminders and Notes
NOTE: Anywaaay, before anything else, I just want to say that please do not forget to thank the authors and translators for all their hard work. Express them whenever you can, in any way you can, and learn to appreciate the effort they did to freely narrate/translate to us mere mortals some of these amazing works.
PS: Alsoo, forgive me if I haven’t updated this list for a long time, and might continue to do so in the next (i.e. subsequent updates might come a bit later than expected). It’s just that I tend to go first and put my novel reviews on NU itself these days rather than on this blog. So, if some of them reviews/additional thoughts here kinda lacked the usual enthusiasm I had, forgive me. I might’ve already posted the lengthy version on NU. Nonetheless though, still do note that whatever I post here are my top recommendations so, regardless of me not putting additional praises here or otherwise, I placed all the novels on this post in high regard, either because they’re really good or, for the updating novels, showed lots of promise. ~The Lazy Slug (my NU username)

If you were “tragically” dumped, and then a very strong, very cool and very arrogant man proposed to you, how would you react?

Bei Wei Wei’s response: Da Shen, did your account get stolen?

This world is too fantastical! Her ex-“husband” just moved on to marry the “Most Beautiful”, while the “Strongest in the Jianghu” has just come to propose? And he said he’ll give her a better and more magnificent wedding.

The faculty “flower” at a famous university, Bei Wei Wei was embarrassed but quickly once again married … …

Some Thoughts…

Well, really one of the best, cute, feel-good romance novels out there. While there is game premise, this one isn’t the transmigrate to game plots. Just that… both leads really love and formally met in-game. Anywaay, the translations were superb (the same translator group who did Eight Treasures and To Be A Virtuous Wife, both also good recommendations.

By the way, this one already got both TV series and film adaptations. While film critics varied in opinions, the TV version was widely praised and is loyal to the novel plot. So you might want to check it out too.

About the Reckless Girl Who Kept Challenging a Reborn Man Like Me

by Kohigashi Nora

TAGS: Originally Japanese, One Shot, Male Protagonist, Reborn, Romance, Comedy, Completely Translated

Read English translation here.

“A prodigy at ten, a genius at fifteen, a common man past twenty.”

This is a story of the struggle of an ordinary guy like me who is a “reincarnator” and a reckless and promising girl who is a “genius”.

Some Thoughts…

This one is a bit realistic, and really sweet. Compared to a lot of stories with reincarnated character/s, this one is rather simple… but it got its point across. It’s a satisfying read overall. And the ending really brought closure, and just… well done. :>

Akuyaku Reijou wa Ringoku no Oitaishi ni Dekiai Sareru

by Puni-chan

TAGS: Originally Japanese, Ongoing both Translation and Original Work, Romance, Fantasy, Reincarnation, Female Protagonist, Smart/Strong Female Lead

Tiararose was supposed to be disengaged and exiled from the country.

“This was the Otome game I had played!” She realized on the day before the story’s ending――…….

Shall I wait for the judgment? But, I did not do anything too cruel……. Thinking so, the ending continues.

But, during the judgement――something that was not possible in the game happened. The neighboring crown prince courted the villainous daughter Tiararose.

Some Thoughts…

I really had difficulty following it at first, since the POV quickly toggles! I’m not really sure if it’s because of the translation or…? Anyway, it irks me if the narration isn’t that seamless. It’s actually a miracle I was able to stick to it that long, even to the point of it making it to this list. Well, yeah, good thing it has an interesting plotline. Really, don’t underestimate this work. It has a lot of fluff. lol

An Otome Game Burikko Villainess Turned into a Magic Otaku

by Sakura Ageha

TAGS: Originally Japanese, Ongoing both Translation and Original Work, Romance, Fantasy, Magic, Smart Male Lead, Somewhat Smart Female Lead, Reincarnation, Toggled POVs

Read English translation here.

The high school girl Manami who had fallen down the emergency stairs at school had, before she noticed, become a three year old in the world of an Otome Game. What’s more, that little girl was one of the rival characters that appeared in the game; the can’t-take-a-hint-burikko-type-rival daughter of a marquis family. What awaited her at the end was social obliteration.

Though she did get a bad feeling about this… Aimi decided not to worry!
It was a dream after all, so that had nothing to do with her. For now, she’s going to master magic! Hooray!

Some Mild Spoilers…

I couldn’t recall much of what happened here… only that, in some occasions, I thought female MC was a bit annoying. I’m semi-continuing this story; semi-continuing in a sense that I’ll only read it when I feel like it again (and not really like other stories where I’d constantly check for updates). Technically, indefinite hiatus from reading it.

Idk… it’s not that I’m bringing this novel down, you know. It just doesn’t click with me. Before, it really, really did (especially the start of the novel). Later on… well, not so much? But I know it has an interesting plot, so I placed it on this list. Interesting in a way that it is a bit different from most reincarnated stories. And different in a sense that there are A LOT of reincarnators here.

Anyway, take my words with a grain of salt on this. I hope you’ll read it yourselves and form your own opinion of it.

PS. Jack of Hearts’ POV is a complete moe though so… ;>
PPS. I’m not sure but… I think it also contained some smut? Not sure. I forgot.

And so She Dreams of Another World – The Pure and the Unwoman –

by Kohigashi Nora

TAGS: Originally Japanese, One Shot, Parallel Universe, Reborn, Romance, Comedy, Completely Translated

Read English translation here.

A self-proclaimed unpopular woman kept having a dream of her and the hero. Why is that? Was it really just a dream?

Some Thoughts…

This one was really so funny, and has a lot of potential that I really hope there was a part 2. And in the perspective of the hero! The use of parallel universes was also good!

In here we have two characters, completely different in personality and thus, lead two different lives. In one hand, we have a tomboy saint so powerful but loveless. On another, we have a gentle and meek saint who got the guy, i.e. the hero. And it’s just so funny ’cause, while we’re looking at the tomboy saint for most part of the story, we get to see her cursing because she saw her other self on another parallel universe flirtin’ and flirtin’ with the hero. Suffice to say, those poor demons end up getting killed vented upon because of that. HAHAHAHA

Suffice to say, I really recommend you to read this just for laughs.

Ballad of Ten Thousand Gu

by Ye Xiao

Before she jumped into the pond filled with ten thousand venomous creatures, Ah Lai asked her, ‘Did you ever regret meeting him?’

Su Bai watched her quietly. After a long moment, she lifted her lips and smiled. ‘It was the greatest blessing of my life to have met him.’

And she leapt off the steps.

She thought: no matter how difficult her love was, no matter how she hated and then despaired, in this life, she was immensely fortunate.

Because she had once loved a person so deeply.

Even if, he had never loved her.

Some Thoughts…

If you’re a lover of angst, I suggest you bookmark this translator NAO! Based on ze profile and interests, I think translator-san is a lover of such and will translate similar angsty works. HAHAHAHAHUHUHUHUHU

It’s not the bad kinda angst, mind you. But still angst. Bittersweet? Something along the lines of grr to huhuhuhu to WHY?! :< </3 Ballad of a Thousand Gu can be an HE, or not (depends on your perspective).

Also, also, it's the same translator who's currently translating "Love in Another Life: My Gentle Tyrant." I'm actually in a love-hate relationship with that one. As of now, still contemplating whether to put it here in recommendation (In my defence, Ballad of Ten Thousand Gu is also angst but at least it's short and now complete). hahahuhu </3 </3 Imo, the story of Love in Another Life is really good if not so heart-wrenchingly bitterness level max that you wanna kick that hateful Emperor if you could. But… yeah, it's angst. And tears. #creysinacorner

Black-Bellied Dad

by Yin Su

She, Huang Shang Rong, is a demoness who runs her office with an iron fist.

He, Xu He Jun, is her miracle cure, no, personal assistant, who got the job because his ancestors have done a lot of good deeds and blessed him with a strong Yang aura. Just by touching him or drinking his coffee is enough to chase away her blues and curb her bad temper. But why did he apply for long leave suddenly?

Turns out that he has a baby on the sly, and the mother abandoned his baby at his door, causing an upheaval to his life and nipping his budding romance with his current girlfriend. Ay, so poor thing. This young man is already dirt poor, how could he afford to take care of a baby? As his boss, she decided to step in and help him manage his time, manage his finances, set up an infant care at the office, and even volunteered to be the baby’s God mother.

Looking at his second-hand furniture, she even helped to buy a Simmons and ended up testing the new mattress with him. When he brought her back to meet his parents, she got a shock to find that they were staying at Di Bao (a high-class residential zone). So he is actually a rich man pretending to be poor? Why did he deceive everyone?

Some Thoughts…

This one was really cute, albeit short. The epilogue was particularly funny! It’s a very good short read.

By the River of Forgetfulness for Seven Lifetimes

by Zi Xinyu

Read English translation here.

Between the two sides of that other shore, upon the Bridge of Helplessness.

“Little miss, drink a mouthful of soup. Forget everything. Your next life is a new beginning, without any earthly desires or pain.”

Looking at the soup in Old Lady Meng’s hands, depression rose within me, “But what about that person in my heart?”

Old Lady Meng smiled faintly and said, “Do you see the waters below this bridge?”

“I see them.”

“Do you see the stones in the water?”

I was stunned for a moment, “Stones?”

Old Lady Meng nodded, “Go down there and become a stone. Watch the great changes in the world for seven lifetimes. After seven hundred years, you’ll be able to bring your longing with you as you reincarnate into a new life to look for him…”

Some Thoughts…

This one is really one of the most frustrating one shots ever! But I love it! Yes, I’m in a love-hate relationship with this work. I feel like “Grrrr… you vile woman, you don’t deserve the Crown Prince! Serves you right!” and “No! How can you be so blind?!”

Then again, perhaps like I said in the comments section at the translator site itself: “Some of us gets so fixated on a certain person, hating the world for not getting them, hating that person for not reciprocating our love, for forgetting us, for not choosing us; when, unbeknownst to us, we’re also doing the exact same thing to someone else who loved us just as much as we love someone else.”

Ahuhuhu. Wait, was that spoilery enough? Huhuhuhu

Chu Wang Fei

by Ning Er

TAGS: Originally Chinese, Complete Original Work, Ongoing Translations, Smart Female Lead, Smart Male Lead, Reincarnation, Political Intrigue/Palace Intrigue, Female Protagonist

Read English translation here.

Yun Fu’s young mistress is weak and cowardly. After having her engagement broken off within the Jin Luan Dian, she kills herself by hitting her head upon a pillar.

When she wakes up, she is no longer feeble and is now cold and aloof making people terrified of her upon sight. She walks unhurriedly into the bloody hall and her chilly voice slowly resounds, “Then we can comply to Chen Wang’s wishes.”

Everybody knows that the young mistress’s personality has taken a drastic turn after the events within the palace but none of them could ever guess that her spirit has been replaced.

A foreign environment where everybody has sinister and ulterior motives, where plots and schemes plague the families, where disputes permeate government affairs; she who has been raised in a boudoir seems harmless enough.

What happens if she is no longer soft and timid? What if, in between a single smile, she can raise forth wind and rain reeking of blood and terror?

Some Thoughts…

Chu Wang Fei is really one of the most interesting stories I’ve ever read, partly because protag isn’t OP at all! I mean, yeah, she has her wits and beauty but that’s about it. There aren’t any cheats. It’s pure political dog-eat-dog world, with no martial arts involved. Well, idk with recent chapters but, with everything going on, I don’t think there’ll ever be.

This one is pure battle of intelligence and schemes. Some of you might prolly be bored of it, but I love it! The characters have sense, and with things being this and that, really. Makes you excited, worried, surprised, and happy all at once.

Coiling Dragon

by Wo Chi Xi Hong Shi

TAGS: Originally Chinese, Completely Translated, Action, Adventure, Strong/Powerful Male Lead, Fantasy, Romance, Martial Arts, Male Protagonist

Read English translation here.

Empires rise and fall on the Yulan Continent. Saints, immortal beings of unimaginable power, battle using spells and swords, leaving swathes of destruction in their wake. Magical beasts rule the mountains, where the brave – or the foolish – go to test their strength. Even the mighty can fall, feasted on by those stronger. The strong live like royalty; the weak strive to survive another day.

This is the world which Linley is born into. Raised in the small town of Wushan, Linley is a scion of the Baruch clan, the clan of the once-legendary Dragonblood Warriors. Their fame once shook the world, but the clan is now so decrepit that even the heirlooms of the clan have been sold off. Tasked with reclaiming the lost glory of his clan, Linley will go through countless trials and tribulations, making powerful friends but also deadly enemies.

Come witness a new legend in the making. The legend of Linley Baruch.

Some Thoughts…

Afai remember, I read Coiling Dragon, aka Panlong, during my strong-hero-protag phase, which was honestly a long, long time ago. So idk if my memory is good enough to properly convey my feelings of reading this novel (although relative to other Wuxia works on this list, Panlong is at least the clearer one). Aaaand… all that I can say is that F, this novel was awesome!

Linley came from a formerly rich turned poor family; but after discovering a ring heirloom inside their house, which hosed a strong being, their fortunes changed. Actually, Linley is one of those innate but hidden strong characters afai remember. And as he ventured on with his life, I remembered being very excited reading every step of it. Really, Coiling Dragon is worth the read! That much, I am sure. Alsoo, afaik, it now has a manga adaptation…?

Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter

by Reia

TAGS: Originally Japanese, Ongoing both Translation and Original Work, Romance, Slice of Life, Smart Female Lead, Smart Male Lead, Reincarnation, Female Protagonist

Note on where to read: You can just search it over the net and find a bunch of translation groups picking this up. It’s a bit fragmented, see, in that one site translates from this chapter to this and then another from here to there, etc. etc.

I was reincarnated as the villain character of an otome game, the daughter of a Duke. However, when I regained my memory, I had already reached my “ending.”

My engagement had been cancelled and if things goes according to its “course,” it was set that I will be imprisoned by the church.

Where is my bright future?

Some Thoughts…

While most of Japanese reincarnated-to-villainess novels deal with the ‘before ending,’ this one deals with the ‘after.’ Once heroine reincarnates, she was already on her judgement day and was facing the cases filed against her. HOWEVER, was able to flip the situation and turn the tide in favour of her.

I really love this novel in a sense that it highlights female MC’s intelligence and strength to stand up on her own. It is a bit heavy though, and of which some of you might find boring, since male protag doesn’t come off until later. PLUS, it focuses more on villainess-turned-heroine’s daily struggles on setting up her own business, in addition to the growing intrigue inside the kingdom and the mystery surrounding the ‘supposed to be’ heroine.

PS. In addition to the novel, there’s a manga currently ongoing. And I dare say the art doesn’t disappoint. XDD

Dark Empress

by Yuan Yuan

TAGS: Originally Chinese, Romance, Dark-Skinned Protagonist, Female Protagonist, Imperial Harem, Ancient China, Smut, Transmigration, Complete Original Work, Ongoing Translations

Read English translation here.

Why was her fate so rough?

Everything has turned disastrous.

She a high flying working girl has transmigrated into a black charcoal.

In addition, a completely unfavoured Empress!

That pervert Emperor can go to hell!

No matter what life, men were to lick her toes.

Want her to serve a man, dream on!

But, she didn’t expect the Emperor to be handsome and seductive.

She wasn’t interested in one moment but rolling with him in the next.

But his acceptance level is high, that he can chew on a piece of charcoal.

And she doesn’t mind reciprocating since he is the meal.

But this ancient man sees her as a new toy.

Did he think that by having her body he could have her heart?

Although she is now an ancient person herself, she has long decided she would not spend the rest of her life in the harem.

How could she let herself become a poor woman waiting for a man to occasionally bestow her with his favours…

Some Thoughts…

Some might be put off with this considering the novel’s jab saying dark-skinned women are not beautiful but! I don’t think it’s to a point of being hateful once you read it. For one, don’t go washing your hands saying society isn’t like this. If the numerous whitening product advertisements are anything to go by, and/ artists actively promoting fair and white skin (AND female protagonists of various novels out there being depicted as such), being fair skinned is the beauty norm. This novel is just being truthful about it and smacking it right at us in the face.

However! Like I said, I just love how truthful and cute this novel is. For one, our Female Protagonist didn’t like the fact that she was dark-skinned because deep inside she thought of it inferior (hello society). However, she didn’t let it bother her too much. I don’t really know how to explain it but just think of society and you’ll understand.

On the other hand though, it seemed it was only Female MC who was bothered by her beauty. Because other people really liked the real (at least, the “past” MC) her’s personality and even the her now. Cue in the Empress who loved her because of her virtue and even persuaded the Emperor to care for her more, and others. I don’t know… like I said, I really can’t explain it. I just find it wonderful how it was only female MC who feel repulsed by herself because of her “downgrade” in appearance (because her past self turned out to be very beautiful) but others really treasure her beyond that (the ML being because she was finally having a personality and interesting in bed). I find it… meaningful. Like… how many girls out there didn’t like themselves because they find their appearance ugly? Completely ignoring the fact that their friends, family or even their right partners love them so much despite the flaws they thought they had? Idk… I just thought of it that way and for me, I really like it. Maybe I’m just romanticising it too much? I’ll let you guys decide.

Either way, I find it cute. And when I thought I would hate the FL in the later chapters because I find her unreasonable (Hint: Babies, pushing entire blame on ML, etc) but! When I read the next chapter and author made me realise things again, I was like… shoot, right! I almost forgot. Then, she won me over again. Anyway, when you read it, you’ll completely understand. This novel is good, and not just in the bed stuffs. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Destruction Flag Otome

by Yamaguchi Satoru

TAGS: Originally Japanese, Mixed Status, Reverse Harem, Hilarious Female Lead, Reincarnation, Female Protagonist, Fantasy, Magic

By mixed status, I meant I am actually not sure whether it is complete or not. Some says the last completed volume (and completely translated) was the last volume for the web version, and is continued as light. You can just opt to end with the WN version, so as not to further stress yourself with where to find the LN continuation and/ find people to translate it. lol

Read English translation here.

I recovered my past memories when I was hit on the head by a rock. I am Katarina Claes, the eight year old daughter of the duke. In a feverish nightmare, during which I became the prince’s fiancee, I have realized that this is an otome game from my previous life.

Also, I’ve turned into the villainess that interfered with the romance of the capture targets… If the heroine got a happy end, I would be exiled, while if she got a bad end, I would be killed by the capture target… I have no happy end!? Why is it only bad!?

Somehow I have to avoid the destruction end, and reach old age peacefully!!

Some Thoughts…

THIS IS DEFINITELY THE MOST ROFL/FEEL-GOOD NOVEL I’VE READ IN AGES! The MC is pure hilarious and super dense as if the entire layers of the Earth can’t match up to her denseness! lol The humour in ‘Husband, Be a Gentleman’ was witty but this! This! This one is the type where you can’t help but slap your forehead and at the same time, laugh it off.

I really don’t know how to judge the plot for this. For me, in this list, this novel is the wildest dark horse — it’s either you’ll love it or not. In my case, I definitely loved it! Though I can’t say it’d be on my top… except if we’re talking about comedy here. If you’ve read/watch Nozaki-kun, you’ll understand. This novel gave me the same kind of vibe. HAHAHAHA

Don’t Be So Proud

by 随侯珠

Chatting in the dormitory at night, roommates wonder how much pain Aunt Flow brings. Mr. Perfect He Zhi Zhou has never bothered joining in on these petty talks for amusement. That is, until he became a woman and laid in bed with a white-cast complexion……

Chatting in the female dormitory at night, roommates sighed over the current pairings in the school of engineering, Shen Xi was a little curious that the problem with these topics is that there was no way to test them. Until she became an engineering male and a bar of soap dropped in front of her……

Introduction in one sentence: About how a top-scoring perfect male with no desire in the opposite gender and an amusing female lead were set up like lightning setting the ground on fire spreading out of control—leading to a sweet and rippling life……

Life is so long, don’t be so arrogant. Some things are bound to deviate.

Some Thoughts…

For the romance, it was cute, a bit slow but very understandable, considering their circumstances (i.e. how FL initially loved someone else). Though them falling was inevitable, it didn’t happen abruptly. She did not easily fall out of the old one nor quickly fall in for the new one. Then again, like in real life, somewhere in between, it just… happened.

For those wanting a break, and want to read something cute and light, I definitely recommend reading this.

She’s somehow ended up transmigrating into the book as the supporting female lead, who was beaten to death! Deeply in love with the male lead, she’s fated to be beaten to a bloody pulp before even holding hands with him?!

First things first, she needs to survive and latch onto the big thigh of a patron. But the supporting male lead is a true gentleman and feels nothing for her stunning, alluring body. That’s alright! She’ll latch onto the old madame or the male lead then!

But why does the supporting male lead look at her with increasingly odd eyes? And what of that Wulin Alliance Head with the personality disorder? You’re just a random bystander, what are you getting involved for??

Finally, the male lead could bear it no longer and dragged her back to the Prince Li Manor…

Some Thoughts…

HAHAHAHA Myged, I don’t even know where to begin with this piece of art! I just love it. There’s ABSOLUTELY nothing to hate about this series (at least, imo). It’s cute. It’s funny. The running gag about the cactus! The thick misunderstandings between leads! The development is really good. Also! Whenever FL mentions hugging a thigh, for some reason I can perfectly imagine her hugging a giant chicken thigh instead. HAHAHAHA

Everyone in the City of Jing thinks that bestowment of marriage between Xian Junwang and the di daughter of the Yi’an Marquis House is to insert a fresh flower into manure.

Xian Junwang was that fresh flower and the di daughter of Yi’an Marquis House was that manure that was not liked.

It is said that what is heard is false, seeing is believing. Who knows what the truth really is?

Some Thoughts…

The MC is kinda lax/lazy in a sense that, unless wronged, she doesn’t dare do anything reckless/stupid. That doesn’t mean that she’s weak though, contrary in fact! She’s smart and very capable, with a lot of common sense.

This story somehow resembled To Be A Virtuous Wife of the same author, with only how the plot got carried out, and the overall temperament and situation of the characters, differing between the two. If you’re one who loved TBAVW, you’ll definitely love this! And vice versa. Of course, this novel is also adopted by the translator group behind TBAVW, and being the amazing team that they are, the translations were good, so the reading is seamless.

The Story begins with our Ye Zhen being made into an Empress unwillingly. On the night of the wedding she kicked the Emperor down from their bed which resulted him to look for his concubine instead. Since then they both have a growing dislike for one another.

Some Thoughts…

Let me just give this straight. ML practically had sex with his concubines. But please read the rest of these thoughts to get the full picture. If you still can’t stomach after all that, then ignore and don’t read this.

So, anyway, to start off — I absolutely loveee the interactions of ML and FL! True to the summary, they fought A LOT OF TIMES. But it was more of playful teasing/banter if you ask me. Y’know, those kinda kindergarten banter that makes you feel ML actually like FL than hate? Anyway, I also love FL! xD ’cause Idk… there’s just some spunkiness in her that draws you in.

Tbh, I also had doubts whether to read this or not. I mean, the summary looked angsty and hateful. And when I read it, I had reservations. After all, feck demn Emperor sleeping with his other concubines is an absolute no-no (well, I love virgin pure ML guys who only dote on our one and only FL) but… Idk. Idk really. I still kept on reading it. Like I said, I love the interaction and I guess that’s what pushed me on. And even though I hated the prospect of ML sleeping with his concubines, there’s just something in the FL-ML chemistry that’s funny.

By the end tho, when ML finally realised he loved his Empress, he COMPLETELY stopped seeing his other concubines. HECK, HE WAS EFFIN’ SCARED OF HIS WIFE! HAHAHA ’cause, yass, Empress feel disgusted with boi who slept around other women (hence, the reason of her vomiting before they can even do ‘it’). Soo.. y’know, Emperor was scared and sad thinking that if he ever slept around others, he can no longer climb on his Empress’ bed and do snu snu. So he stopped. Even went as far as letting his Empress see him bathing every night to give the impression he was ‘clean.’ HAHAHAHA

Anyway, I’ve laid out “important” parts. It’s up to you if you can stomach this premise. But so far, yass, it’s quite hilarious. And fun to read.

The previous owner of Mu Ru Yue’s body had been poisoned. Because of this, her meridians were blocked, hindering her cultivation, which eventually led to her being known as trash. After being beaten to death, Mu Ru Yue, who had originally been a successor to a medicinal aristocratic family in Hua Xia, reincarnated into her new body. They want to seal my path? I will train to reach the peak of the realms! They give me a foolish prince as my husband? I can make do with him. It would be easier for me to deal with him, rather than with other candidates who would be thrown at me in the future. I shall strive to become powerful enough that nobody will be able to mock or kill me.

Some Thoughts…

EAA started off rather weak. Tbh, the first few chaps bore me — esp. considering I’ve been reading a lot of bullied ojou-sama’s and reincarnated fem protags to exact revenge in the old owner’s stead; however, I’m still very much thankful for my stubborn streak to not give up on this novel.

I love this novel a lot! Most of the reason is prolly because of my fondness for reincarnation + fantasy + martial arts/powers + strong female + OP characters, idk really. Still! Whether or not author-san is exploiting this from me, or the many readers with similar tastes as I am, I still can’t deny how much I’ve fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

The protagonist is very lovable, idk why but esp. her mentor! And although the twists were clichéd, most of which just to elevate female’s OP-iness from her already OP-ed circumstance, I won’t dare be hypocritical, and admit I still welcome it. If you don’t mind some of the things I mentioned, and instead gravitate towards OP characters, then I suggest you reading this would be worth your time!

Beware that, as mentioned, the start is rather boring… but once you get in the midst of it, you’d surely be reeling for more. There are a lot of foreshadowing and mysteries, that sometimes you forget some until it’s slapped back at you. XDD

I am a princess, moreover, I am a fool of a princess.

Born in the imperial palace, my appearance is as average as that of the white radish and cabbages in the fields. Throughout the four seasons of the year, my face is always displaying a dull expression, eyes forever shrouded in haze.

But in reality, I know of the secrets within this palace.

Including hers, his, and theirs.

Just leisurely living my days comfortably in the palace like this, I firmly believe I can continue to play dumb to the end.

Taking your hand, dragging you away. Not leaving you say? Very well, close the doors and release the hounds. (Expressionless face)

Some Thoughts…

I actually find this quite entertaining/refreshing. Not angsty/too dramatic. Just for leisure reading.

The FL pretends to be fool but is not actually a fool. Do note though that, again, this is a reverse harem. Although there is a “clear” (?) ML but… Idk, it’s best to read this without any major bias. It’s really quite entertaining and fun. Also, the translations are great (same translator of Mulberry Song) and fast! So… much much love to translator xiaomei-san! ❤

A young love leads to a lifetime of entanglements. Zhao Mo Sheng is a university student with a sunny disposition. The bright and cheerful Mo Sheng fell in love at first sight with He Yi Chen, one of the top students from the Law Faculty. However, his poor communication skill, makes her depart sadly for overseas. Seven years later, Zhao Mo Sheng returned home and spotted him immediately in a crowded supermarket, …….

This is a very short and sweet story about two college sweethearts, who separated on a bitter note but fate tosses them together again seven years later.

Some Thoughts…

And yet another fantastic work from this author. This one though is more on angst, most part centring on them clearing the misunderstandings and coming into terms with their past love. I love how well the characters were fleshed out. Despite the push and pulls, the development was good. A really good read on a rainy day, with a cup of warm choco on hand, esp. for those seeking a bit of angst and drama (or even for those who aren’t).

Also, like A Slight Smile, this one already had a TV Series adaptations aired. I’ve watched it and the actors and actresses really did a great job in bringing out the characters to life. WC had perfectly depicted the ML. From the reviews alone, it was well-received and even won some awards. Moreover, I’ve become very addicted (i.e. LSS) with the theme song, My Sunshine by Jhang Zie.

Pei Jin: Wife, you’re an expert liar.
Yan Shi Ning: Husband, it’s because you taught me well.

Some Thoughts…

NOW THIS, I won’t deny is something that I REALLLY REALLLY LIKED! The characters are loveable, the plot is nothing new but how author-san phrased every word is very refreshing. There’s humour. There’s wit. I love it! I just love it so much.

It contains the usual political intrigue in the palace, esp. with this being pattered after Chinese Imperial courts, but how our two protags handled things their own way was like the sun’s blaze cutting through every corner of the kingdom. I love the interaction, the chemistry and how the characters were well-defined! It’s also a bit more realistic, considering how the main characters weren’t too OP and just enough.

Anywaaay, I dare not say more. I think the summary already said enough of how spunky, and compatible our two MCs are. YOU. JUST. HAVE. TO. READ. IT!!!

The entire entertainment circle knew that whenever leading actress Du Yu Shu and Emperor Ye Jingan encountered each other, in their free time they would speak with poison on their tongues and release gunpowder all around them in the air-ready to destroy, their poor relationship was to the point where fans from both sides had already given up on fighting with each other.

But no one knew that Du Yu Shu was actually a very big fan of Ye Jingan, every day she would go online and praise him #bow to male god, #male god is very handsome, #male god I want to give birth to a little monkey with you, #give birth a flower goddess # fan in true love;

At the same time, no one knew that Ye Jingan was Du Yu Shu’s fan, every day he would go online and worship her #goddess, #please marry me goddess, #seeking to support the goddess, #I’ll kneel so please look at me goddess #this is true love ;

Until one day, they both entered into the same entertainment variety show- causing the entire entertainment circle to go mad, though it was a very delightful spectacle to watch, one day, they fell off a horse.

—I heard you like me?

—Well I like you,

—I like you too.

Small Theater:

When the news broke out that Ye Jingan and Du Yu Shu would attend the same reality show, fans from both sides started crying tears→

→ Fan A: goddess, why didn’t you think this through clearly! A good reality show will become a murder scene, the director will cry!

Fans II: In order for the program to run without any problems, the director must not put male god and goddess in the same group ah!

Fans three: I think the real purpose of the reality show is to make Male God and Goddess’s battle of the sharp tongues into a full on war-conflict!

A year later, Ye Jingan made a Weibo posting :

Ye Jingan V: Thank you, we are together.

Now, fans have felt that they need to see a doctor, an optometrist.

Some Thoughts…

FINALLY IT IS RE-CONTINUED AGAIN! I really find this novel cute and very fluffy! The two protagonists are such big tsunderes!

There were times my heart broke because of some “light” misunderstandings that I hope these two people would just kiss and makeup, but still! I don’t really consider it that serious and the whole thing becomes moe again.

I love both leads, and their interactions I find really funny.

User B: 「I think I might be unsuited for dating. I very much enjoy the ambiguous phase of sounding out each other’s feelings, but after becoming official, if they want to hug me, or perhaps kiss me, I will immediately feel nauseous.」

Internet User: 「I beseech that the two of you be together. Don’t go and harm anyone else.」

Fii was the first princess of the rural nation, Déman.

One day, she became engaged to King Roy; an icy king with both beauty and ability, whose management ability was perfect, and who would be perfect save for his coldness towards women.

The engagement was not really anything for her to celebrate though.

Why? Because her younger sister with both beauty and fame, whose personality was great, who held a mysterious power and who was a soothing miko had gotten into a marriage of love with said king. And Fii had just come along with her as a set bonus.

She was treated as a stain on the fairy tale, but after a certain event, Fii decided she didn’t care any more.

She didn’t care about this lifestyle where she never saw her husband even once, where she would spend the rest of her days rotting away in a royal villa.

She was going to live her second life!

That was the decision she came to.

Some Thoughts/Mild Spoilers…

Contrary to what the title is suggesting, this isn’t a reincarnation novel. More like, as tag says, female MC is a hated princess MC, and not wanting to live the kind of life simply rotting away, decided she’s going to join the rank of Knights! But first, she has to crossdress. Not that females were prohibited from joining the knights, but she simply doesn’t want to raise suspicion upon herself.

I find this novel very refreshing, in that unlike most I’ve read so far, there are no cheats and MC isn’t ridiculously OP. She’s lovable but… there are just some areas that I disagree/disapprove of her, such as her treatment on one of her ‘friends.’ Other than that though, plot is interesting and pretty light. There’s the possibility of romance BUT frankly speaking, I really really realllllllyyyyy hate to heaven and back who I think is the ‘main’ male protag. He’s a scumbag. Period. A 0.1% Jun Qian Che of Beloved Empress, if you will.. in that I really hate how they treat their ‘wife.’ Yeah, yeah, Prince Roy treats his main wife with care. BUT! FEMALE PROTAG IS ALSO HIS WIFE, albeit the second. Grr..

If there really is romance someday, I really reallly reaaaalllly wish NOT with Prince Roy. It needs some reasonably good major twist for me to like Prince Roy. I want that guy to suffer first, maybe write a thousand apologies and bang his head on a wall a hundred times after realising who ‘Heath’ really is. Besides, main wife, i.e. MC’s sister, is already loved by the entire kingdom and is really loveable too soo… if she’s going to end up with Prince Roy and become main wife, it needs some ++ twist. Really though, castle life does not suit our main fem MC. I hope she’ll break free from her castle life (i.e. her title as ‘Second Queen’).

If just to talk about male candidates, alsoo, there are lots to choose from. I particularly like Kain. His character is just soo cute, and funny! lol Crow can be one too. He’s a playboy, yeah, but his heart’s on the right place. I was really betting on Doug at first but… err, given this strange relationship he has with fem MC, it’s weird. I don’t like it.

Overall, it’s a very interesting read.

Lycoris, as a precocious child, suffers from a strange sense of deja vu. On the day her father told her about her fiancé, she realizes that said fiancé was actually a character from an otome game she once played in her previous life.

“I got the heroine’s rival position? The type of girl that often gets stabbed to death in a bad ending? No way”

This protagonist endeavors to avoid the yanderes all around.

Some Thoughts…

At first, I passed this off as just comedy. But then, as I read on, I was painfully reminded how disturbing yanderes could be, that even just one yandere character (even with him/her not being the main) in the story, that story could suddenly turn psychological/mature.

Don’t be tooo afraid of reading this though. Yeah, sure, it has some mature/slightly disturbing connotations, but imo it’s not that twisted. Overall, this story is interesting and still a good read.

It was something that happened while I was waiting for the day of the primary school entrance exam. I realised that I had become one of the characters of a shoujo manga that I loved reading in my old life, 『you are my dolce』.

The role I was assigned was a character who bullied the commoner protagonist and tried to get in the way of her love with a rich boy nicknamed Emperor; a typical villainess ojousama, Kisshouin Reika.

At the end of the story, Reika suffered the Emperor’s retribution and even her family fell into ruin. With the villain gone, the protagonist and the Emperor overcame their trials and became a couple. And they lived happily ever after.

Wait, that’s terrible for meee! The manga ended with just that, but I have to continue living my life after my family is ruined!

I’m fine with the protagonist having fun with her romance or love or whatever. I’ll erase my presence so that I don’t anger the Emperor.

Eh-? The story isn’t progressing well because there’s no villain, you say? But I’m busy saving up money and studying so that I can live well after the collapse.

I want to avoid getting involved with the Emperor as much as possible so that I don’t end up ruined. If you two are a destined couple, then please just get together even without facing those trials.

In my previous life, I was a complete commoner. Right now I’m an ojousama from a rich family. I can’t forget the taste of junk food, so I’ll sneakily slip out of my house to buy potato chips.

Some Thoughts…

This is really one of the most interesting works I’ve ever read, and interesting not just in terms of plot but also in terms of writing style. It’s long, yeah, but imo not at all boring! Or maybe it’s just because this kind of adventuring and fantasy is really, really my thing…?! I enjoyed the adventures underwent by Kumo! Not to mention, she’s really cute. There’s also a manga adaptation for this and, might I say, their depiction of this loveable character was so spot on! Idk. I just find her weirdness cute and comedic. There’s a bit of philosophy here… moral ethics, if you will. There’s also some twists, regarding world and character revelations. If you don’t mind the length (btw, kudos to the translators for catching up to the original work!), this one is a must read! :>

The purpose of our alliance: Make my husband interested in women!

Frankly speaking, a man who isn’t interested in a woman … is he gay? Having a husband who is suspected to be a gay, I will fight for him and not let him go astray.

So I raise my eyebrows and with a wicked smile: My dear husband, wait and see how I am going to teach you to be a real man!

Some Thoughts…

I find this really cute. The ‘misunderstanding’ tag there simply pertained to the FL completely misjudging the male lead’s character and end up being completely eaten later on. HAHAHA In the later parts, the story somehow tuned down to a slice-of-life kinda thing, but the interactions between the leads still kept me entertained. Overall, it’s a good, fun and light read. Some Thoughts…

I really find this interesting. The world author created, for me, was beautiful. Idk I’ve always been a fan of magic after all, and the existence of gods, mythological or not. Moreover, our heroine in this story is, might I say, unique. Some of her views might be weird for some, but convincing in a way. And some of her POVs were downright comedic too! Reaally, this novel is more than worth a try.

The romance aspect doesn’t really come until later. So, the beginning parts are more of slice of life…? Her dealing with prophecies, action and stuffs. As I said, it’s really interesting. I hope author-san can sustain this kinda thrill.

But when her mother died, she entered the palace and had the chance to see her entire future in a dream.

When she woke up from her dream, she was determined to reshape her future, realizing that she had plenty of time before the crucial turning point.

Thus, she begins her journey to change her dark future.

Some Thoughts…

I really love Lucia. It’s a story full of misunderstandings, and scenes that squeeze and break your heart to a gazillion pieces, but that in itself is what made this story wonderful. The drama was so masterfully done. It’s not to a point of hateful like My Gentle Tyrant, it was just… simply right. Kind of like light “romantic tension”. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) It keeps the story moving and will help you fully understand and grasp the characters.

This is by no means light. In fact, there are really dark undertones here. So if you don’t mind a little spice and a little drama, just read it. Or even if you were originally a fluff lover, still read it. I think you’ll still come to love it, just like me. It is definitely worth the time. The translations are also really good too!

Make my Abilities Average

When Viscount Ascham’s House’s eldest daughter, Adele von Ascham, became 10 years old, she remembered everything with an intense headache.

Her previous self, Kurihara Misato, 18 years old Japanese, lost her life when trying to help a young girl, and then she met God…

A somewhat capable person burdened by the many expectations of the surrounding people, Misato, who couldn’t live as she wanted, pleaded to God.

“In the next life, please make my abilities average!”

Yet, somehow the story is wrong!

The girl with 3 names, being careful to not accidentally become an S-rank hunter, lives normally.

I mean, I’m just an average, common girl. No, seriously.

Some Thoughts…

This one is really hilarious! Well, God did indeed made her average — but average between the SSS extraordinary being, i.e. God himself, and a 0th talent person. Simply put, she’s still way beyond ‘average.’ And her trying to live an average life, which she clearly isn’t, is damn funny. Idk just reaaad ittt~!!!

One leap from the city tower thus fulfills the Marquis of Chang Ye’s triumph in conquering the world, establishing a new era. Yet she only turns into a wisp of a lone soul, accompanying him day and night.

Some Thoughts…

I really find this one unique and moving. Unlike most historical novels, this story is about the Empress sacrificing her life for a better tomorrow, for their kingdom and her husband. However! This one narrates the ‘after she died’ part, and shows that all her sacrifices weren’t in vain, for you can see how much she was dearly loved and appreciated by her husband, the new Emperor. The story was really poignant and sweet. It’s perfect.

Actually, my life was pretty average and rather peaceful.

It was probably because I was still young.

In the world of gaming, this genius pair reigns supreme, their invincible avatar so famous that it’s the stuff of urban legend. So when a young boy calling himself God summons the siblings to a fantastic alternate world where war is forbidden and all conflicts –- even those involving national borders -– are decided by the outcome of games, Sora and Shiro have pretty much hit the jackpot.

But they soon learn that in this world, humanity, cornered and outnumbered by other species, survives within the confines of one city. Will Sora and Shiro, two failures at life, turn out to be the saviours of mankind? Let the games begin…

A mountain of gold and silver? Wrong.

Then what is it? The return of the prodigal son.

Some Thoughts…

This one was really angsty, poignant, simply… simply beautiful. It teaches you a lot of things, a lot of values. As someone who detests developments/characters like these, i.e. second chances under these circumstances (even more specifically, second chances for MLs who are no more than worthless trash), with Our Second Master, however, it’s different. I can’t help but admire his strength of character. His development and maturity is really worthy of praise. You can see how he clearly regrets everything that he did in the past, and how he strived to atone for his sins later on.

It was sweet, and I cried a couple of times.

Easily cowed and bullied, she was the useless, ugly woman with no talent in medical skills. Supported by millions, he was Tianning’s most respected duke with the power to move all under Heaven. On their wedding day the bridal sedan was carried to the front doors, but the Duke of Qin’s gates were shut tight.

They told her, ‘Come back tomorrow.’

All alone, she walked step-by-step full of pride through the duke’s doors. Little could they imagine, this unattractive good-for-nothing was a beautiful, genius doctor of poisons!

After transmigrating to the past, poisons expert Han Yunxi finds herself on the verge of being married off to the country’s second most powerful man, the Duke of Qin. Her future life seems set–except her husband is an unfeeling ice block, her in-laws think she’s a eyesore, the empress dowager wants to use her for her own goals, and poison-related plots abound.

Alone, the intelligent (and sensible) Yunxi must carve her own space from the intricate web of court intrigue and the jianghu, relying on her words, wits, and wisdom to survive. Adapt when necessary, use force when required; to survive and thrive is the name of the game to a prosperous life.

No matter what, she’ll prove her right to live!

Her Mother-In-Law’s doubtfulness; her husband’s childhood sweetheart; her mean elder sister-in-law; her narrow-minded younger sister-in-law… Being inferior, Sang Wan withdraws without a choice. As time passed, she ended up being lonely and died tragically.

Reborn on a sedan chair, how shall she proceed? Standing right at the cause of the tragedy when everything restarts, can she change her fate and find her beautiful melody?

Some Thoughts and Spoilers…

This is really one of my most ideal Rebirth story, the other being Rebirth of Malicious Empress. If you want something with revenge, I say you go ahead with the other one. If you just want something that’s pure fluff, cute, and a nice, no-revenge, development, then I strongly suggest this!

Here we have a docile protagonist, but no way gullible! She already had enough of being tricked and used in her past life. However, unlike most rebirthed/reincarnated heroines, she does not engaged in revenge. All she wanted was to live peacefully. That said, to her husband who she knew had someone else he loved, she proposed that they divorce (which sets it apart from TBAVW and ETT and the lazy temperaments of their respective female protags)!

Moreover, this is where it gets interesting. It’s ’cause, unlike in the past life, her husband came to love her in this life instead. And is, in fact, the ML of this novel. Quite interesting, huh? You rarely see, if NONE at all even, where the “douchebag” that caused the FL to die in the past life is the ML.

Then again, hold your horses. Before you jump to the wrong thoughts, I feel like ML was perfectly justified in the past life. Let’s just say the only thing I can prolly berate him for is his utter lack of taste. His “childhood sweetheart”. Pwe. Suffice to say, poor ML and FL are really just both victims in their past life. I’ll try to make a separate and more concrete review on this later. For now, really, it’s very much worth a read. Don’t be discouraged by the summary. Just give this one a try.

There once was a very popular question on the internet:

If one morning, you woke up and realized that your gender had changed, what would be your first reaction?

And someone on the internet had famously responded:

First, give your bros a good time!

Su Jian remembered that when he saw this reply, he had slapped the table to express his admiration. What a good bro! Such loyalty!

But now that he actually encountered this strange situation himself, he could only feel an extremely ball-breaking alarm, shocked grief, and frightened anger. Fuck your mom! Ah, Fuck! Fuck it!

Oh, a correction. The above is grammatically incorrect. After all, poor Classmate Su Jian doesn’t have eggs anymore.

Some Thoughts…

This one is really one of the genuinely funniest stories ever! The protagonist is just funny, loveable and downright adorkable. Seriously, if you really want a nice break, read this one!

The only reason some of you guys might prolly be averse at reading this is because it’s genderbent. So, it’s really up to you if you consider this a male-male relationship thing or a hetero one. Depends on what perspective you’re looking. But really! Imo, I don’t think it’s that bothersome or something. The story itself and the interaction is hilarious you’d forget worrying about those minor things.

I was reincarnated into a horrifying world. That is…The world of the otome game “I’ll Risk Everything for You”.

In that world I was reincarnated as the hidden love interest character, and decided to never involve myself with the Heroine. My head gets all screwed up whenever I’m around them.

This is a love story of the main character who reincarnated into a love interest and the young woman who served as the villain.

Some Thoughts…

This is one of the comedic, fluff web novels I read… but somewhere in the middle just makes you WTF before going back to its usual fluff. There are a lot of stuff going on here, esp. at near-end, that I’m not sure whether to label it as psychological or not.

Anywaaaay, I still love this novel though and I’m sure is still worth the read. If it weren’t, I wouldn’t have placed it here on this list.

In a galaxy far away, there is a kid without innate inability to practice internal techniques. So, in order to gain the respect of his father, he resolutely chooses to follow the more difficult and painful path of practicing external techniques. As the years go by, he grows up, but what really changes his life is a mysterious meteoric crystal stone — the Meteoric Tear. This stone fuses with the young man’s body unnoticed, and he seems to undergo drastic transformations as a result. After that, everything is changed. Eventually his father knows that the son for whom he hasn’t really shown a lot of consideration possesses astonishing abilities. And there’s a lot more to come.

Some Thoughts…

If you haven’t noticed that this novel is written by the same author as Panlong’s, then now you have. What I loved about this is the male lead’s resolution to really better himself for his own sake; that even with the stone fusing, and him becoming OP, I feel like it’s his due anyway and really didn’t take it against him. I don’t remember much of the itsy-bitsy details, but I do know — and remembered — that this was a good novel, with the lead and development really worthy of praise.

I was reborn as a princess in the world an otome game with memories of my previous life.

Wait, what? I’m the Heroine’s love rival? You’re kidding! I have no intention of falling in love with any of those pathetic guys, because the one I like is a support character, the Commander of the Royal Knights.

Except the Heroine, after being reincarnated in this shitty game where the support characters are way better than the love interests, is threatening to bring down my own life with flags, and I am determined to strike them down.

Some Thoughts…

I used to avoid this piece like the plague, thinking the characters were only 2D. I was wrong! I’d like to borrow what makenai89 said in his/her NU review, “[…] the protagonist was not the cliche spoiled princess nor a reincarnated person that only thinks ways to avoid her flags. She is a proper princess who understands what is noblesse oblige and works more on behalf of her country and for the good of the people around her.” I have to agree with others that the world building and character development was really great! And I can’t wait what would happen next. I’m really liking the projects kukkiriri-san picks! And his/her translations are really good too!

A story of time-travel. Sly and cunning, she unexpectedly became a sickly noble lady whose fiancé is mercenary and demotes her to a lowly concubine. She sneers and bravely breaks off the engagement. To hell with scumbags, marry heirs : to lords, blind the courts with her brilliance.

But, my Lord, we agreed that we are only partnering to scheme against other, when did you treat acting as real? Hey, hey, don’t touch me.

The Lord smiled slyly, “Your hands are too cold, let me help you warm them… Your feet are cold too, let me help you warm them.”

Murong Xue indignantly said, “Why don’t you just say that my whole body is cold and you need to warm it all up.”

The Lord nodded, “Good idea!”

Murong Xue – speechless. Hey hey hey, where, where are you putting your hands?

Some Thoughts…

First few parts are a bit annoying. The fiancé pisses me off so much! Then again, hmm… somehow, later on, the plot with him turned rather amusing. I hope he doesn’t become too antagonistic / the unlikeable antagonist though.

Alsoo, yes, female lead is strong and smart; however, her strength isn’t the physical strength. Unlike some reincarnated works that, more often than not, automatically makes heroine so OP, author placed some kinda handicap here (i.e. female MC still has a weak constitution). While some of you might think of this as a disadvantaged character, and hence a disadvantage to the story overall, I beg to differ. It actually makes the story interesting. Deep inside, I hope it stays more or less this way and author, unlike most authors, doesn’t make her protags too idealistically OP.

Overall, this novel is worth a read! Though… I still have yet to see the quirkiness of both protags as promised by its summary. So far, I guess since the translation is still far off, there isn’t much witty bantering between the too. Hopefully… soon.

This is the story of a crazy lich carrying a game system and terrorizing an entire world.

”Let’s look at the daily quest today… These two bullshit choices again, destroy any city with 30 thousand and above people, rewards of 10 thousand evil points. Take the lollipops of three little kids, rewards of 1 point. If both are not done then -2 points.”

“Cuih! You think I’m stupid, if I really destroy a city I’m guaranteed to spawn a squad of medieval paladins full of epic ranks to come and subdue me. At that time I won’t be able to spend anything. I’ll just go be a kindly lollipop bandit.”

I’ve already had enough of being a notorious lich, who says that liches can’t be good people? I definitely have to beat this damned system and be an upright good person.

Some Thoughts…

I find this one really funny and, in some way, really fresh. At first, what piqued my interest was the ‘elder lich’ part ’cause if you guys didn’t get the hint, it reminded me so much of Overlord and I love Overlord! Then again, as I read this, I’m slowly getting more and more immersed in the story and its world; and now, I’ve come to completely like it for the story it is.

The protagonist is very cunning, really scheming! In a way, it challenges your moral standards. HAHAHAjkjkjk Like I said, he’s also very funny… with how he tried his best to beat the system and be good even though his reasoning is clearly twisted. lol Also, the development is great so far. So I have no complaints. Overall, it’s a good and interesting read.

The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage

The Di daughter of military lineage – pure, amiable, quiet and yielding – foolishly in love with Prince Ding, threw herself into the role of a wife.

After assisting him for six years, she finally became the mother to the world (empress), and he the emperor.

She accompanied him to fight for the country, to flourish the country’s territory, and even took risk to be a hostage in a foreign country. Yet, after returning five years later, there was no place to fit in the Inner Palace.

The beauty in his arms smiled brightly, “Older sister, the country is stabilized and you should retire.”

Her daughter had met with a violent death and the Crown Prince, her son, was disposed. Not one of the Shen family members – who had sacrificed themselves for the country – were lucky enough to escape. In one dynasty, everything was overturned: her clan had perished and she needed to mourn for her children!

Shen Miao never did thought that as a married couple who went through trials and tribulations and mutually assisted one another was just a stage joke to him!

He said, “Seeing that you have followed Zhen for twenty years, Zhen will grant you with an intact corpse. You should be grateful this great act of kindness.”

Under the three Chi of white silk, Shen Miao made a malicious vow: In the time to come, she will take part in each and everyone’s end!

Upon rebirth, she returned to the time when she was fourteen, where the tragedy had yet to occur: her family were still alive and she was still the pure, amiable, quiet and yielding Di daughter of military lineage.

Her relatives had all been hiding their black hearts. Her female cousins are ruthless and malicious, her new Yiniang is like a tiger watching its prey, and the disreputable man is wanting to repeat of events.

Her family must be protected, the huge enmity must be avenged, the Imperial seat of the country must also be part of the trophy. In this lifetime, let’s see who can beat the others!

But that little marquis from the Xie family, the arrogant and obstinate spear carrying youth, stood biasedly at her side and proudly said, “It is only the measly fall of the Imperial power. Remember this, the world belongs to you. You– Belong to me!”

Some Thoughts…

The brutality of this story is just right for me, not too dramatic/angsty like Princess WeiYang, and not too mild, borderline weak, like Mei Gongqing. So far, it’s oddly satisfying and showed lots of promise. Definitely worth a read.

As a virtuous wife, does it include tolerating his cousin, enduring his concubines, bearing his mother?

If you will not let me live freely, why would I let you live in satisfaction?

Did fate let women time-travel so she could learn the three morals and four virtues?

Rather than act like a coward and live, it would be better to live in satisfaction and die.

Some Thoughts…

Do not be put off by the summary just yet, because this novel is clearly different than that! The characters are of good temperament, the female lead particularly reminding me of Eight Treasures Trousseau XD, and the story development was really good. This is a romance novel but I really like it how, rather than words, most of the emotions and feelings of the characters are expressed by their actions instead. The story is charming and sweet, definitely a feel-good novel to pass the time, and the ending was very satisfactory too, if not great!
